Joni
I'm Joni (she/her), named after Joni Mitchell and I live in Whitehaven, Cumbria with my husband Al, son Axel and our very own hellhound Lucifer.
I've always been 'in' to photography and dipped in and out of it for years. Becoming a Mam and seeing how quickly Axel changed made me grab the camera again so I could capture all those changes.
Al is a creative in his own right with his upcycling business Dust N Bones. It was his decision to start his own business that inspired me to take my photography professionally and start I Love You Thirteen.
I love music, gigs, visiting cemeteries, binge watching boxsets, console gaming and memes! (Check my IG story for meme content)
I am what some call goth in the sense that I'm usually always wearing black, my house looks like it's halloween all year round and I find beauty in the so called dark side of life.
I love going against the grain or being a bit 'weird' and love nothing more than working with anyone else that feels strange and unusual.

So if you've read above you might have guessed I love Halloween and I love fancy dress nearly just as much. As soon as Axel's first Halloween approached I started making a list of costume ideas for us. I will try to rope Axel into these family costumes for as long as possible!
The pressure on the ideas grows worse every year so if you have any suggestions then fire them my way.
I get asked about how/why I came up with 'I Love You Thirteen' quite a bit so I thought I'd explain.
13 is a special number for us. Me and Al got married on a Friday the 13th and then when I had Axel he was born on a Friday the 13th too. We didn't chose the spooky life, it chose us. Anyway I knew I wanted a 13 in the name somewhere but couldn't think how. Then one night when I was putting Axel to bed, I told him I loved him and he replied "I love you thirteen Mam". As soon as he said it I thought it was perfect.
